Talking Yo Yo Yooo!

what's up fella's?

i've been in vegas for about a month and i'm finally starting to settle in here but i really do miss the guys back in hawaii.

work is ok but it is very different from my days in the army. the air force is laid back but almost too much. i'm gonna change some of that , at least in my shop.

on to the car scene here. haven't really met up with any subie guys yet because nobody here goes on i-club.

the las vegas racetrack is pretty cool. went to the street car drag races, paul mumford open track challenge and autocross.

saw shiv and his evo at the otc. his car is badass! saw lots of evo's, s2k's and z06's. wish i still had all my parts. although these guys were fast i think some of the hawaii guys(joey S2K) could actually be competitive in this event. it was only race one of 5 races done in one week.

autocross. hawaii scca is a joke compared to here. awesome. it's almost like a track day at hrp. you hit some serious speeds on their courses. caught a ride in an s2k and is300 which the driver's were cool. they even had free food for lunch and i didn't race.

the drag races were cool. they only have it once a month but twice in the summer. being this is vegas they make and big deal with dj's and an mc while you race. kinda fast and furious to me. none the less, some fast cars were seen. especially the supra's.

could go on and on but i'll try to keep you guys posted on what's up with me later. i'm at the base library using their computers but once my household goods get here i'll be checking in more often. take care everyone, late!

ed

obtw, happy birthday richard! party on!

ryan,

cool! i'm sure he's going have a blast when it's all done. let me know how it goes.

makes me sad to think about my old car. i still have it btw. i might keep it till later in the year and see what the '05 sti and evo mr are like.

a lot of guys here have srt-4's. they're actually pretty fast on the freeway.

it's so tempting for me to mod my car. i could have some nice kills over here. think i'll go rallying in the desert this weekend. still have the truck(stock) suspension on. hehe!

how's your car running? get that tranny fixed yet? man i'd love to have your pimped ride on the strip. laterz cuz!

hugh,

what up? glad to hear your finishing up school soon.

unfortunately the housing market is getting out of hand over here. not enough houses for the amount of people moving in. you can still get a good deal on a new home but you have to find a new property that's in the planning, bid for it and wait like one year before it's built.

i heard the city is gonna stop building houses in 2 yrs because of the lack of water.

jobs. i'm not sure. depends on what your skills and education are. i think you could get a job pretty easy at a casino to start. like anywhere, it helps to know somebody.

i heard that card dealers make around 15 or 16 bucks starting out and cocktailing in the right casino, you could make 300 to 500 bucks a night. it must pay good cause i seen some old *** cocktailers in cesaers palace which means they don't won't to give up the job.

good luck and take care!

hey thanks

all my friends are planning to move up there...i heard $200000 can get you a pretty decent size house with pool and garage etc...there are no taxes on certain things...i'm assuming these high paying jobs and cocktail and bartenders don't come around because of its low turnover rate?? just trying to get a general idea of the economy before diving in...hopefully i'll have enough saved up for a down on a house before they stop building...hows the weather there?? take care
