I think you'll be on a first name basis with the oh-so-fun winter phenomenon... "perma snotty nose"
Just gotta find yourself a father figure to yell at you and tell you to go out and shovel the sidewalk at 5am. Make sure all the other kids get snowblowers instead of you for the authentic midwest experience.
<--- has shoveled his last shovel full of snow. (not ****) Hehehe

Way to go Myron...
I know there are lots of high paying diesel mechanic jobs in Alaska...after you become a journeyman...
Figure...all the big fishing boats there are all diesel, they have many diesel/oil fired powerplants, big equipment there...just a thought in case you get use to the bitter cold of Wyoming...
Wyoming is cold man...Imy bro use to go over there to drink when he was going to school in Colorado...

25k is a lot for 9 months but the only thing that im concerned with is getting a good job with good money that i enjoy doing. had mixed thoughts about it today but i think i still am going to go through with it. need to get off this rock.
Myron,
If you are undecided on what career path you want to take and your main question is what the job outlook is like. The best thing you can do is call up companies in the industry and talk to their HR staff.
Ask them on average how many people are employed in your desired field and most importantly how easy/hard is it for them to fill those positions.
One of the highest paying positions in the US that has many many openings is that of the Truck Driver. They can make up to triple-digits but there is a distinct lack of people willing to fill the position. I have a lot of trucking companies as accounts of mine and I can tell you right now that they have lots of trouble filling their open positions and end up having to overpay to get warm bodies in the seats.
Anyways, I hope that gives you some perspective.

Expect to be freezing your ***** off. January is probaly the worst month to be there.. Your gonna be meeting a lot of kids from all around the country.. A lot of them are douche bags and a lot of them know there ****.. What classes are you planning on taking? I personally took Collision/Refinishing with trim and upholstry. Im currently working part time(whenever I want) at a local restoration shop doing some paint prep. But my full time job is at autozone. DO NOT LIVE IN TECH HOUSING. You will regret it. And Also do not rent from Jaycox Rentals.. This lady will f$ck you over like she did to me and my friends... The tech dorms are cool but they can do random searches. No drinking is allowed in the dorm or allowed in the dorm even if your over 21. While i was there a 29 year old got kicked out of techer housin for having a porno mag and a can of beer.. All and all Laramie is not that bad of a place, Not too many girls.. Most of the girls at parties will be under 17 so make sure you check some id.. The cops in town are some dicks so be cool.. How are you gonna get around out there? Have fun goto class and pay attention some of the teachers know a lot and other dont know **** they just read right outta the book. Any more questions feel free to pm me.
