I don't think so. It adds function if anything. now.....adding non functional hoodscoops = rice.

 

I don't think it's rice, but when I looked into it the '02/'03 STi hoodscoop looks SOOO much better!

 

I came from a 1999 Impreza 2.5RS so the first thing I did was order the STi scoop to give a comparable size, adding to the functionality of it, it was a great idea. Plus most people won't even notice you have done it.

 

if you were stickin an air scoop on a civic with no turbo, then..........
but yah, i would switch an sti scoop for my wrx one.
