WRX Parts Vendor Review Thread!

Since we're usually out of luck when it comes to ordering parts online with the very expensive shipping, I think it would be nice for alot of us to post what vendors you believe serves HIIC members the best!

My entry will be World One Performance.

Garret at World One is one of the best vendors I've EVER delt with. They do go the extra mile on getting what you need fast and prompt. Garret also tried to suit my needs as much as possible since shipping sucks to Hawaii and he helped alot. Got my order within time too. I believe he sent it out the SAME day. I would definitely go with World One again and again.

Ive had great success with Gruppe-S every time I have ordered stuff, but have had communications with Garrett and he was extremely helpful.

Edit: This would be a great sticky as long as it wasnt hijacked and wasnt a lot of non-related messages to scroll through.

well my first purchase with World One, went flawless.

The second time, I felt I was mislead all the time with info,(for about 3 weeks to almost a month) so I just canceled my order and went elsewhere.

Gruppe-S on the other hand, has never done me wrong. I get my items when I'm promised.

Oakos is another great vendor, who eats a lot of the shipping to help us save some money. Was never let down by David.

Brian of Flash and Dash is great as well.

Nino's was ok.

Suby_dude rocks as well.

Thumbs up Nino's

this is a great idea Boom i sure get tired of searching the web for the best deals on parts and tring to get the best prices on shipping at the same time. those are 2 hard combinations to come by here in Paridise. I would also have to submit Nino's when he said 2 day shipping for my DBA rotors i was like yeah ok 20 bucks what do i have to lose and they were here just like he said in 2 days Go NINO's

Vendors

I have had great luck with Nino's and Gruppe-s both were fast and prompt got items when they said. Nino ate the shipping on a item I had bought and gave me a good deal on some sway bars.

Gruppe-S is the shiz!

MPJ split the shipping costs with me on the DP. I've also had good experiences with Oakos and Turbometrics.

This is a very good thread! For me, timely communication is key. If you're inquiring about the availability of an item and it takes longer than a day to return an email, you're not getting top-notch customer service from the get-go. No sense buying from them, eh? It's also good if the vendor doesn't inflate shipping costs to HI, supplies tracking numbers, and the package arrives when it's supposed to. These guys have met all of my requirements:
1) World One
2) Modified Toys
3) Kastle's Korner
4) J-Spec Tuning

Don't hesitate to deal with any of these vendors!

Suby Dude rocks too. Although his prices now aren't as competitive as it used to be imo, his customer service was top notch. Almost a year ago, he made sure that I got my STI V2 front lip in perfect condition and a helped me out drastically by shipping via USPS. Great vendor, gets back to you very quickly. Later on, I followed with the STI grille, same as last time. Great guy! Someone told me he was on the island atm, I thought they meant Shiv, but I clearly heard Suby Dude! Don't mind taking the DUDE out for dinner and pick his brain

Rallispec sold me springs. Hell yes, buy from them
optauto.com sold me an HKS harness, would buy again
gruppe-s.com kicks major ****!

Garrett at World One screwed me once. Never again

Allsubaru.com or Subiegal(jamie) screwed me on shipping. Never again

MPJ Performance gave me half off on shipping once, but not on the 2nd order. maybe I'll buy again...

My very first online order came from vivid racing. Good experience, yes. Buy from them again, no.

Places I've had good luck with.

J-Spec tuning
RalliSpec
Subaru Parts (Tacoma Subaru?)
Vishnu

I can't recommend Vivid Racing as they screwed up my one and only order from them. I finally got all my stuff, but it took almost 2 months.

Where I've shopped and what happened:

Vishnu: Slow, slow, slow. I emailed; no response. I called and left three messages; they never called back. Shipping; expensive. Good product. SLOW. Probably will not order from them again.

Nino's: Got what I want and got everything with it. On time. Good pricing on shipping. Might order from them again... just don't have a lot of confidence. No problems, just a gut feeling.

MPJ: Ate a LOT of shipping for me. Sent stuff USPS when I asked. Answered all of my questions knowledgably. CALLED ME BACK AT WORK when I asked them to. (This is a good thing. I work in a place where I can't bring my cell phone, and I can't call long-distance). Highly recommended by the Bay Area guys and attends a lot of their meets. (Think Farid, only Subaru Specific) Will order from them again.

Places I will not order from (with reasons)

allsubaru.com: HORRENDOUS shipping costs. Wanted to charge me $108 for my rotors. Very difficult site to navigate

Vivid Racing: WAY to many stories from people about their horrible/non-existant customer service. I think of them like I think of WMR.

I know what you mean. I had a good experience with him (even though I received a big empty box that one time), and got my stuff. Yet, I too have this gut feeling... No offense to you east coast guys, but a lot of shady characters hang over there.

If the vendor is more than a couple of time zones away, don't bother. Try to get everything from the west coast. It's common sense -- If you order from a vendor that's closer, the transit time for your product is disminished, also allowing less time for people to screw around with your goodies (UPS is well known for this kind of crap)

gruppe-s and oakos are very good vendors. ordered multiple stuff from both of them.

vivid racing was my first purchase of a stage 0. just took a very very long time and something went funny. i forget already. probably won't order from there again though, especially if one of the other vendors has the item for the same price.

vishnu, i tried to and supposedly successfully ordered a flash+core, but they took way way too long with no feedback, so i cancelled my order. i will probably have to pass in the future. they were also pricey, but it comes with performance(although cobb is cheaper).

ordered from pdm-racing. interesting, different selection. good vendor, very fast BUT shipping is $$. b
