Wrx Killer

Saw the new SportsCompact magazine with this eye-catching headline..." WRX Killer"!!! I dont know if mazda is under mitsubishi like lexus is under toyota, but when I turned to pg.36, it had an article on the new mazda 3 factory tuned turbo tuning in at 263hp,28x lbs of torque, and 0-60 in 6 sec. so I assumed its trying to take down the WRX like the EVO is trying to take down the STi. Just thought Id share!!!

Is Mitsu trying to make a car that compete with WRX non STi? like in the ~$25k range?

OK here you go:

1. Mazda is under Ford (someone mentioned that already) they share lots of stuff like chassis, parts etc. (Ford Fusion is based off of the Mazda6)

2. The Mazdaspeed3 is basically a Mazda3 with the Mazdaspeed6 motor and some cool add-ons like suspension tuning and such.

3. Mitsubishi is re-thinking the Lancer Ralliart part of the Lancer line. They're going to put a turbocharged 4 cylinder and some other stuff to make it compete with the WRX. So the Ralliart will try to take some of the WRX's market share while the Evo will continue to contend with the STi.

Unhappy

I'm a mazda guy, i think the MS3 will be fast, BUT faster than a comparably modded WRX... think suby has got it beat. Mazdaspeed models allways sell for a premium, so for the money think suby ftw, too.
