that SLIP light comes on when the traction control is "trying" to work. It usually will Flash if it is sensing/trying to correct the slip.
The bad thing about the traction control is that it's always on, even when you turn off the VDC, ... it is just less 'aggressive' when the VDC is off.

BUT, ... when you Really get on it, the traction control will realize you're Serious about driving hard, and it will totally back off. //// Leaving you with a 'constant on' SLIP light.

 

... the guys in Japan are somehow disabling the VDC and traction control 'semi-permanently'. I don't know how to do that yet. Unfortunately, it isn't as easy as it would seem.
