Nah, I went and swapped it out for a g.
Every so often (every 2 to 5 min.) I'll get a little window to pop up in the lower right corner that says, "Wireless Network Connection One or more wireless networks are available. To see a list of available networks, click here."
Then I have to click on it and a box for 'wireless network connections comes up. The one with my 'key' in it, and I have to hit a button that says 'connect.'

Pat, explain to me how far your connections are...wireless networking is a *****. If you don't get it done right/or windows didn't get it done right on the first try, its hella hard to make it work. How did you install it? On mine, I installed the card on the second computer, and the network list came up. It didn't drop or anything. I have a feeling it is probably the drivers you are on. As in, the drivers for the 802.11b is still in the system conflicting with the 802.11g drivers. If so, the best solution to that is try remove the program all together and start from scratch. Keep us updated.

12 feet. When I'm connected, it's as fast as the hardwired desktop. Earlier today and yesterday, it worked uninterupted.

What I would do first, uninstall all network drivers, then reinstall the 802.11g ones then see if it works. if not, then return it. then that would take care of 2 problems: defective merchandise or driver problem.

I gave up when I came here and just realized its time to be a nerd in the computer room and not everywhere in the house.

See, today it's working awesome. No loss and it's fast.
I'm actually surfing on the crapper right now.
FYI it's about 8" long, but theres a little hook on the end.
Man do it smell!
Anyhow, I don't think I did anything different, it just works better today.
