Wicked Machine Racing?
Wicked Machine Racing?
Anyone know this outlet? It was listed on the TurboXS site as a local dealer. Or can Farid possibly order TXS parts? Would rather order from someone local if it wont cost me a ton over online. Interested in the FMIC since no hacking is required...
WMR is off of nimitz. I have a good friend that works there, and I trust him. But others wouldn't trust WMR as a whole. I wouldn't trust their wrenching that is for sure.
Their price is okay considering shipping and all.

Hmm, any i-clubbers that can get parts like Farid? I dont mind paying a little more for local face to face purchasing and getting to know local dealers. Thanks.

Hey, my SCCA WRX is almost totally outfitted from Eurosport. They have access to just about anything. What in specific are you looking for? I'm selling a few things since I've upgraded some components.
AEM Cold Air Intake
AEM Alternator Pulley
HKS Fuel Cut Defender
Blitz SBC ID II Boost Controller.
Let me know,

the general consensus is if you're going to buy local, then buy from Speedgear (Farid).
Some guys go elsewhere, like Sonic Motorsports, etc. But a lot of us like to buy from Farid if we're buying local.

I agree, Farid at Spead Gear will work deals with you if he knows you'll come back. Deals that compare to the cheaper internet prices. Plus he's a Subaru owner himself.
My experience with Eurosport is that they are overpriced and not very helpful. Whenever I asked Bob (owner) a question it was like I was bothering him or putting him out. So I spent my $10K somewhere else.
Johnny at WMR is cool but I wouldn't let them get 50 ft from my car with a wrench. Also they don't have a good return policy, everything is cash and you will have a hell of a time with returns. A guy we met at the track, Mario, has waited 3-4 months for a TXS Utec he bought and hasn't seen yet and hasn't been able to get a refund either.
Kind of a no brainer on where to go in my book. But WTF do I know. I guess that amounts to . 06 cents.

Farid it is then. One question do you pronounce his name like its spelled or "Fareed"? Just curious.
Also where is he? I will go order all my toys from him. I really prefer to order local and hate ordering online. Would rather give local guys the business and get to know a good local reference source.
Thanks, Dave

Spead Gear is on the lower level of Ala Moana shopping center. Let him know your plans and that you're an I-club guy. If Farid is not there then talk to Dylan.
and yeah, his name is pronounced as "fareed"
You can probably order quite a bit from him, But not necessarily everything you will need, there are a few vendors we usually order from on the mainland for what we can't get here.

Had a bad experience with WMR. Took them over 3 months to get something really simple. Kept getting the run around. I had to resort to driving over there constantly to put the pressure and see what was up. They finally gave in and refunded my money.
Speedgear is definitely pretty cool. Got my bov from them. They got wrx stuff, but they seem to be low or out of stock on many performance items right now.

STAY AWAY FROM VIVID
I bought my Turboxs stage 2 kit from WMR and it did take a long time to get the utec, but WMR wasnt at fault its was just that the utec was on backorder. The price wasnt bad either I paid the same money that I would have paid if I would have gotten it straight from turboxs.
