Why should I keep my car?

as most of you probably know. i own an '04 STi.

i wish i could say i was a proud owner of an STi, however... because of problems after problems after problems... i'm just starting to get sick of the ****. i've done some research on my car and done some research on the EVO VIII... and well... they both have their pros and cons.

basically i just wanted to get biased opinions on why i should keep my car and not trade it in for an EVO.

and no... "because it looks cooler" will not help me at all. thanks.

I would usually use the quaility argument but in your case, it doesn't hold up. I guess you unfortunately ended up with a lemon. It's a shame because most of our subarus don't have the problems plaguing yours.

Ultimately, it's your opinion that will count when deciding whether or not to keep your STi or switch to an Evo. If after sufficient research you still cannot decide, either will be a good choice.

both cars are great- this debate has been answered so many times over....
let me tell you why i love these cars..... my dad owned 3, i own 2. there is a history built within me....

performance numbers will tell you that they are like chevy and ford of our previous generations...

one thing attracts me the most.... the engine, transmission and awd layout(horizontally opposed 4)... how many car manufacturers can strip their car down like subaru and just showcase the engine tranny and awd? there is a true meaning to symmetrical AWD look at the pics...

one of our members switched from an STi to an EVO which he loves.. but will be the 1st to tell you that he still misses his STi....

if you bought yours brand new i would definitely tell you go evo... but since you bought it used(i bought my STi used also... but i knew the owner personally)... there is no 100 percent guarantee that your car was not abused in some form or fashion...

Maybe I'm the nOoB here, but what problems are you having with your STi?

My reason for thinking of selling my STi was financial...but I still have it!

i would trade it for an EVO cuz it would be something different... consider it as a new project to work on and for you to expand your horizon on other cars. think of it as starting off fresh. if you plan on getting an EVO, wait for the Evo IX, it jus looks sick!

so the sti is used? well theres the problem, you can never expect to have a performance car like ours without any problems especially if its used. you dont know the condition of the car, driver habits and what not.

it sucks that your experience with a sti is so negative. regardless if you get an evo or another sti be sure to get it new. it sucks but imagine with all the money and time invested on a used car, you could have had a brand new car without any problems.

sell it becuz... it's given you a bad taste in your mouth in jus 2 months (and your gut wants an evo anyways)

keep it becuz... brakes, rotors, and suspension aren't that hard to change and maybe u can fall in luv with it again.

whatever happened with the keyed-up incident ? alotta cash?

well... according to five-star, my car is "safe" to drive. so i have to wait 2 weeks for the shocks to come in.

i'm almost to the point where i wanna start saying "I HATE MY CAR!!!"
