I modify my car to perform better but also to make it look nicer and more aggressive. Some aesthetic mods make the car look better and also perform better(ie, wider rims with better tires and exhaust). Imho, a stock wrx is not aggressive-looking except for the hood scoop, and its pretty ugly lol.

because i'm an idiot that shuld be using the money on buying stuff that appreciates rather than depreciates- - -
just for the (2)cars alone(not including parts)- its 50,000 dollars- and by the end of the 5 years they will be worth crap-
it's an expensive HOBBY- that feeds an EGO that i seem to have to fill...
i will change my ways........ very soon- either that or make some good investments that will justify the reward for my parts.

I consider it a "Quality of Life" issue.
I have one of the more stressful jobs that I know of (basically, if I do bad...kids don't eat and someone dies) so when I am done at the end of the day nothing makes me happier but to walk to my car and say "yeah, it was worth it".
The whole modding side of it is because I want that feeling to be amplified by the amount of WORK/$ I've put into it. Kind of a pride thing I guess.

but i know what i have to do- i'm trying not to get into the modding "jone's" way of thinking- but i have to admit i feel good sometimes looking at what i've done to my car- but it never ends-
when i have all the money my wife, and kid need and the portfolio is acceptable- then maybe i can justify(once again) the $$ spent on my car-

Is Blake a pessimist? Think positive man. The harder you work the more people you help.
To answer the thread. Why not optimise the full potential of our cars? These are Production version of a Race car. It is human nature to "tinker" with stuff to make it better. We are just following what natural selection intended us to do. Plus, too mod up your car = getting more chicks = greater reproductive success (The ultimate goal of all species.) Anthropology rules!!!!!!
Hmmmmm, Masters thesis? Excellent!!!
