I was also guilty of blasting the car too, mostly on the highway. There's proof of it on Youtube that I can admit as well, lol. But residential areas where kids can jump in front of you out of nowhere, was off limits for me. There's a time and place for it, but that window of oppurtunity is very small here on Oahu. If you're going WOT for more than 10 seconds, you're already guilty, even worse at a short time in a residential area.
Yes, no one has control of this, sad to say. The entire import community is still at blame because of past incidents. And truthfully, we aren't really distinguished from the [others]. As long as we fall in the category of dropped to the ground, with wings (aftermarket and OEM alike), kits, and have loud exhausts and BOVs, we're all the same through our society's and law enforcement's eyes.
I'd be mad too for seeing what Jon saw. But at the same time, I'd call myself a hypocrite....and not. Only because now I drive a slow RS and don't speed anymore at all. No reason to, haha!!

That's why I got out of the scene, for now untill I get my motor and other stuff then I'll start driving my car and get recon for it. But till now I'll just ride my bike and relax LOL.
I know if I ever do get a dd car I'll end up doing seiit to it.

Eh Jon, Seems like the community is really declining these days
I do remember when nearly everyone I ran into on the street would shaka and smile... Like it has been said in previous posts, the reduction in used suby prices have made the vehicle readily available to a younger and seemingly less mature demographic.
My Advice is keep reppin the suby that you worked so hard on!
Oh and if you see a guy shaka at you in a silver Z06 vette, that's me

I've been called out by 2 Corvettes when the white car was still alive. 1 Z06 and 1 ZRI. Both drivers looked over 40 years old and had a need for a mid-life crisis race. Every type of car has an immature driver behind the wheel, even at 40+.
haha looking back, i shoulda kept the wagon...times were tough though and I had to sell at the time
I was thinking about selling the z06 and getting an sti... I miss that turbo sound and that "tunda down unda" :P
