FYI anything from Lonestar is most likely a donated car which means, while it's good for a project, it most likely have some sort of problems that the previous owner didn't even want to fix or was too extensive to fix to sell.
What happens is when you want to donate a car, you have two or more choices here. Either through National Kidney Foundation or Kokua in Kind. Kokua in Kind is Lonestar Motor's "charity exchange" section if I remember correctly.
I think one of the members work or used to work there too. They used to do shady business back years ago with charities but I don't know if they still do now. Source: http://archives.starbulletin.com/200...ews/perez.html

I used to work at an dealer only auto auction yard, I think the whole thing was a huge scam that made 50k every week (picknpull bought most of there cars for $150). I think just about every charity that got the donated cars were fake, one charity was name Eddie Bowers Enterprises, (fake name but you get the point) a charity with the word 'Enterprises' in the name??!! Come on! and two of the other charities were owned by the mother of the owner of the auto auction.
But craigslist couldn't come close to matching the prices dealers get;
$250 for a '89 240sx (123k drifter miles)
$150 for a '86 corolla (auto/blown head gasket but full black interior)
$150 for a Toyota Starlet (74k miles! went to the junks and made an angel cry that day)
$700 a miata (w/hardtop)
$400 for a 98 Impreza L (motor was apart)
$1900 98 Lexus GS (electrical gremilins)
$2700 bugeye wagon (gram lights, silicon hoses, whiteline braces, sti grill/bumper/shocks/springs, projector headlights and check engine light)
Of course most had major problems but not all.
Looking for a cheap car? Get a dealers license or befriend a dealer. UNBELIEVABLE deals out there
