That my friend, is the worst job evar in the room. I mean, its like working with kids with down syndrome. I rather work with those kids though, at least it helps the world.

I know how you feel....but at times, I didn't mind checking out the cat5 cable under the desk of a hotty.

I'm the unofficial end-user support guy for my office. Since I know a lot (relative to the people in my office) about computers I get to fix their ****-ups. I couldn't do it for real. I don't have the patience, and swearing at your co-workers is not a generally accepted principal in the rest of the world. Apparently it's OK in the Army, though

You guys have no clue... I've done that on and off for most of my six years in the Army. Most people the Army lets operate computers showed up for boot camp riding the short bus.

Too true, too true. The really sad part is that the worst computer users I've run into have been in personnel and finance. No wonder orders and pay are so jacked.

Ooo Oooo... pick me...

Worked for Maui.net... did Tech Support....
Worked for Maui Gateway... more Tech Support...
Became SysAd for Maui Gateway... became tech support for Tech Support personal...

Work at Pacific Disaster Center... Win2k SysAd... Help Desk for 40 employees....

So yah... it only gets worse with time... it's bad enough when some goober that just bought a computer at Costco is asking "What do I do now that this box says 'Connected to the Internet' and has a timer? Where's the Internet?"... but it's even worse when someone that aquired a Bachlors of Computer Science from a supposedly reputable university is asking you why their "Main computer box thingy" is barking at them.... that oooo so recognizable sound being that of a hard drive trying to spin up and failing miserably...

Oooo... I love my job... really...

I think I can top that

Owner/Consultant for Cyber Technologies
Asst. Technology Coordinator for the Dept of Education
Service Manager/Lead Technician For Pacific Integration Group
Systems Administrator for InterNAP Network Services in Seattle
Network Engineer for Integration Technologies

There's more, but that is the more recent and relavant past.

Plain and simple, users are dumb.

Bah! don't you have your own company? hook me up with a job. BTW I thought the users at AMEX were stupid. Working on the NMCI project at Pearl Harbor is worse.
