who do i talk to about buying a sway bar?

i've been having trouble with some online sellers about this (major flakes...)

is there someone they'd recommend? i'm doubting i'll find a 24mm rear sway bar on island... but maybe someone knows a guy who knows a guy? eh?

I have always bought my stuff from him since I have been stationed in Korea. My stuff will usually arrive within a week.

turn in concepts got Whiteline sways at a good price. Plus true free to Hawaii shipping. I really wish I just bought the whitelines from them instead.

+1 I know them personally and they will take good care of you.

Just call them and tell them your plans for your car and they will walk you through how to setup your suspension...they are the Subaru Community's best suspension shop.

On another note...what is up with these points and levels under my profile thingie to the left? What do I get when I get level 100?

thanks for all the tips guys!

@markpaco YGPM - are they for 08+sti sedan?

i ordered a whiteline rear sway but no-dice with the seller, he's being a d!ck, even ebay agrees.

i'd like to start with 24mm in the rear, but i suppose 22 would do as well, i'm trying to fix the massive understeer (and will probably lay off the right pedal in the turns)

Bigger isn't necessarily better...the strength is what counts...which is why I stick to solid sway bars instead of tubular.

Here's what I would put together if I got a new STI:

24mm Whiteline FSB (set to the less stiff hole) - 2008 Whiteline 24mm Adjustable STI Front Sway Bar (BSF39XZ)

22mm Whiteline RSB (set to furthest out hole) - 2008 Whiteline 22mm Adjustable Rear Sway Bar (BSR49XZ)

The various end links - Turn in Concepts

Whiteline RCE - WL Roll Center Adjusters

Springs of your choice (I prefer Swift but not sure what the 08+s need for lb/in...drop up to you but I usually go minimal like at 1" or less since you lose useable suspension travel when you herra frush out yo ride and disrespect whole famiry).

Adjustable shocks of your choice (I prefer Tokico D-Spec but KYB AGX would be fine...really any of the legit brands that offer adjustable setting(s))...set the fronts at 80% stiffness and the rears at 50%.

Tires of your choice (Summer Ultra High to Max should be fine...I would go Hankook V12 Evo or Dunlop Star Spec)...set the tires at F38/R32.

Then take the car to Auto-X and have fun with it http://www.sccahawaii.org/

That setup should present you with a more or less neutral handling car that will oversteer on application of the brakes in mid-turn and understeer when you hit the gas. A very controllable setup that shouldn't get you into trouble but has enough adjustment to get more "entertaining" when you feel that your skills are up to it. They also allow you a lot of chances to play with your setup to get things "right for you".

bpang - thanks for the writeup! that's what ive been reading everywhere (more or less piece-meal writeups). i've got a 22 rear and 24 front now, only had an opportunity to run the rear and so far it was a world of a difference. I went to full hard setting, but will probably go neutral w/stock endlinks until i pick up a pair of adjustables.

as for further mods, i'll probably wait until i have a garage where i can do everything to the spec i really want (im just missing all my air tools and things i left back home)
