i was stuck going back home from ford island at 730 this morning. it took me 1 1/2 hours! going back to camp smith afterwards (which was like 930), it took another 30 some minutes just to get past the spot where everyone was rubbernecking.

as far as the racing thing goes, ... they don't know for sure what happened. someone could've been falling asleep for all we know. It pisses me off how everyone here says "damn street racers", and stereo types everyone with mods on their cars. I had to listen to the damn radio stations all morning, and not once did I hear Anyone address what the Real problem is, ... Education. If people are not educated on How to drive, there will Always be wrecks, or "racing accidents". I've talked with many people here that have never driven, or even been in a car, that's been 80-90MPH, ... until they get old enough to try themselves, and Of course they're not going to know how to control a car at 80MPH, even a simple lane change can f#ck them up.
That why it's important for these stupid f#cks, I mean young adults, to come out to track events and learn how to drive!

Just a week ago or so this f#cking kid in a jetta spun out right in front of me on H1 b/c his dumb *** didn't know how his car would react when he changed lanes at 80+ MPH. He f#cking lucky he didn't hit anyone or the wall. You know what he did as soon as the car stopped on the side of the road? yup, he sped off at 80+ speeds again.

I put off getting a new battery for my wife's car last night so I had to do it this morning . Took about 1-1/2 hr to get from Waikele to Pearlridge and back home.

BTW, Jon was that you I saw on Moanalua near Pearlridge heading ewa bound around 8:30?

you're right... it could have been someone sleeping at the wheel... it is wrong to stereo type someone...

then again how is it possible for 2 people to slam into 1 car? I guess we'll all know when they finish their investigation and put it on the news tonight...

well, anyone travelling a 80mph and not paying too much attention is going to have a hard time avoiding an object taking up 'at least' one lane (I say at least, b/c they close off two lanes when opening the zipper lane). They may have been speeding, maybe not, ... may have been racing, maybe not.

pics seem to show a 2nd gen eclipse behind a v-6 type eclipse. racing or speeding, either way it was reckless and killed an innocent in the zipper truck passengerside.

Similar situation for me. Took over an hour to go from mililani to LCC one way. Missed my first class but learned just about everyone else did too.
