As a kid I cared about gifts...I was spoiled straight up.

Now, I care more about spending time with my wifey and soon to be daughter as well as calling the family.

Presents basically amount to Action Girl and I each getting about $75 to buy whatever and then for the people in HI we send home a bunch of candy/food from Trader Joes and one other store...have the Moms distribute to the different households as our X-mas gifts. Usually spend about $250 to $300 total on all gifts.

When baby comes she gets 5 gifts for Christmas but has to donate 3 of her old toys to Charity. That's it. Well I actually can't control what the rest of the family gives but if it is an inordinate amount that means her donation amount goes up as well. We want our kids to put giving back at the top of their priorities when they grow up.

this would've been the worst if it happened... but i'm still blessed and thankful for another try..
but mainly..christmas is really about me and jess' kids happiness and enjoyment... nothing else feels greater than to see them really happy opening their presents..of course..we go out there and buy something for each other but i always try and make something to share and give..i kind of sort of have this unique creativity side of me that whatever comes to my mind, i'll try and make it... it's really the thought that counts...no matter how simple the thing is..

Spanks to you both...I also figure getting rid of toys they won't play with means less clutter so it's a win-win.

Jon next time we're home I won't forget to give you a few air humps.
