What Do You Think????

I was thinking about getting a Carbon Fiber Hood for my 2.5RS.....First of all, it's a alot lighter than the stock 2.5RS hood....second,it will be the last step in making my RS look like a WRX........But I have afew questions that I want to get comments on....Do you think the c/f hood will match my car?? how dusty will my engine bay get????(If you have a fmic but still run the stock wrx hood, you'll understand)or should I just keep my stock hood????? thanks guys --Dave--

How 'bout selling it and getting a WRX? Just kidding Dave. You car looks great. I've never been a fan of Carbon Fiber a little too "ricer" to me. But that is only my opinion, and that dont count for much.

No need to make it look like a WRX. You know that a lot of the guys WITH hood scoops are looking to go scoopless like your car, right?

Why don't you wait for one of the PSM BES guys to get a FMIC and just do a trade?

why not go with a reverse cowl type like ryan had? still has that affect but won't get as dirty. the carbon hood is just a waste since it's not much lighter. put the money to better use and buy some ss brake lines or something to better your handling. JMO

Guys the RS hood is not aluminium like ours. It is heavy as ****. Carbon fiber, only if painted or a WRX hood would be the best choices.

ok... maybe not. seriously though. if you think shaving the weight off the front is gonna make THAT much of a difference then do it. then you can justify spending the $$ on a carbon fiber hood. and if you paint it, then whats the point of carbon fiber? go fiberglass- its like half the price, not as strong.. but unless you plan on having Donkey Kong sit on your hood or go 156 mph on the H3 then you should be fine. either that or wait till someone sells their aluminum hood.
*personally i think your car is very nice already*

I say do what you want. I don't mind CF as long as it's done well. What I think looks a$$ stupid are the people that paint their hoods black so it looks like it is CF.

Yes, I think c/f looks good if it's done right and tasteful. I say do your research and DO it.

Thumbs up

My 2 cents:

CF = $$$ (Waste in term of performance, just for the look even though it is light)
UP/DP = gain in HP and rumble boxer engine

Invest in Engine Management, it is worth for the price and gain more HP.

But HEY , this is your money, so just spend it wisely...
