What coilovers to buy?

What coilovers to buy?

After this weekends autoX I see that my S-Tech's have to go. I need some coilovers! I thought about mike's, but I don't know which ones I want to go with yet. I was looking at the JIC FLT-A2. I read the I-club reviews, and they were decent. I basically want an extremely stiff ride on the track, but a little less stiff on the road. I will sacrifice daily driving comfort for track performance. Does anyone have any suggestions for brands and spring rates?

I'm not too sure of the importance of a harness, but sometimes with my 400/400 GC+Koni setup I tend to fly out of my seat of I hit certain big bumps.

I'm sure that with some stiff real-deal coilovers, you might want to invest in one

I think that you can't really ask for a real smooth ride if the coilovers have high springrates initially, BUT if you have a set that has individual compression dampening adjustment, you can substantially lower that adjustment so that the shocks do not work to make the ride stiffer and the bumps only act on the springs... but you probably already know that, hehe

I myself like em stiff, I wish I could have gone stiffer but my konis can only handle 400 without spending big $$

Yeah I have looked at that post, and you can see where I have posted. Mike said that the spring rates weren't stiff enough for him, so I probably would want a stiffer setup than that. I don't know for sure, and that is why I am asking for your guy's recommendations.

my friend has the FLTA2 RS ones - he has 12,000 miles on them and they are very noisy- the bulk of his miles are on tantalus so that might explain his short life on the coilovers- after driving his car i really liked the feel of it- thats what i planned on getting, but i've heard other complaints regarding them-

i've been eyeballing the bilsteins also- those JDM Impreza mags make me drool like crazy- with all their susp setups.

I don't have an STi any more, but I'm with Nate. I need to get rid of my S-Techs and get some full-up coil overs. Luckily I know another Evo owner here who is selling his JIC FLT A2's :-D

It was my first time out there and damn, I think I can't drive for sh--, but I think I still did OK for a novice and was driving with a mean *** hang-over head-ache. That sun was kickin' my a--!
