That is a good combo that many here are now running here in hawaii. But if you dont want to be the like the rest of em, you can always go with something else... Dare to be different. Perhaps a nice hybrid turbo?

Ok, supercharger and a vf30. Hows that for different? or I will just disable the turbo and be an all-engine no-longer-turbo car...

oh no....the EJ20 has a big bore and short stroke, perfect for boostin! N/A on it wouldn't be too strong....but well if you got the money, nothings impossible.

Well for now, I say just uncork your exhaust system. Go with an uppipe, downpipe, and exhaust system. The exhaust bits alone will add some 25HP+ and greatly increase the driveability of the car. On top of that, if you can get em now while your still in Vegas, the shipping will be dirt cheap if not free(depending on specials). The boxes for exhaust systems that are shipped to hawaii are too large and get charged extra for it's size.

You can figure out your turbo/injector/pump situation later. Those are all rather small boxes.

I know there is some interest in some hybrids with garrett components from one site mentioned every now and then.. but iON Performance the guys that made my turbo also are bringing some garrett's to the table. If you want the ability to have a turbo custom built for what ever type of driving you plan to do, a garrett hybrid will offer you that. And the price is not all that bad compared to a IHI VF series turbo.

Whats a recommended up and down pipe? I am hoping to pick up Nolimits BMP exhaust as soon as I get on island so I will purchase the pipes here. Any suggestions?

Looks like a bunch of arguing in there about up and down. =) Ugh. Guess I was hoping for a general consensus or atleast a majority saying yes get this one or not that one. Oh well. Guess I will just have to pick some and order em and deal with what I end up with. Fun...

Well personally I would get a TurboXS cast uppipe. But Vishnu's is excellent and so is Perrin. Some of the guys here have a PDE, but I wont comment on that as I have no personal experience with one.

Love my PDE - cuz' it has never leaked! Then again it may be my insanely god mechanical type abilities - but then again probably not.

Did get a high-voltae/low EGT temp CEL, but that's to be expected after removing the cat in the uppipe.

Both the PDE (what I have) and the Vishnu up-pipes are very well made. Vishnu is probably better quality IMHO. But the PDE if you request it, comes with a bung for the O2 sensor and a bung for the EGT sensor as well (Beats the hell out of drilling a hole for the sensor).

hey, what metal is the PDE made of?
I wonder why Richard is getting the high-voltage/low EGT temp CEL when most of us haven't. Richard, did you research what other up-pipe's were getting this? just curious.

Didn't realize nobody else was getting the reading. To be honest, I believe it's my "old man" driving style.

I leave it on cruise control at 55-60mph a lot, and rarely blow out the carbon during daylight/evening hours.

When I do a lot of onramp blitzing (in the wee hours of the morning) I don't worry about CEL's.

When I drive like a granny (like when I'm going to the track from Honolulu and have the car on cruise control at 60mph) is when I notice the CEL's.

Now that I have the 2.2k ohm resistor I haven't seen anything odd on the dashboard since my trip odo read 66.6 miles last night.

So if I ordered the Vishnu I would then have to drill the holes myself? I assume you guys have all done the drilling before so it wouldnt be the first time if I ended up with the Vishnu?

I will probably do better asking questions over a round of Coronas and Mochas once I get there.
