Just for 'food for thought', I stopped by the local Mitsu dealer to see if I could take a testdrive. They don't have any. I'd have to put $10k down for them to bring one down.
I looked online at the dealers up in Indy and they only have brand new. I stopped at one of the larger dealers up there the other day, after they were closed, just so I could look around. They didn't have any on the lot that I could see. This was a very large inventory dealer, too.
Hmmmm

Very good read.
If I were to go that route, I was initially leaning towards the RS and in effect still do. I am discouraged by the lack of ABS, wing, and lighter wheels but that doesn't mean that I'd default to the more expensive versions.
I'd have to price a brake system swap, a wing, and wheels first.

I loved the STI, i have driven if for an extended period of time on several occassions. I thought it was the car for me. I have an SRT-4 and was looking for some AWD fun to share with my FWD pissed off SRT-4. About a month ago i bought an EVO 8 for various reasons. I loved the handling. I do wish for more power on the free way though. I have run my SRT-4 on EVO on the track and the SRT just has more top end and pulls strong on the EVO. The STI would have more top end, though but i bought the EVO for the totality of the driving experience. The total experience of the EVO is just more intoxicating. I don't like the low rent interior but everything else is just perfect. The car has balance, steering, braking, low lag, grip and too much more. I feel it just what a person wants. I already have awesome torque in my SRT and now i needed balance

Officers, especially LT's don't make THAT much. Officer pay is all hype. Yes it's more than enlisted but still nothing to brag about.

there is a decent article on the MR in sport compact car... i kinda feel that it was unfairly placed in a category of cars in a much lower class. but then again they had an STi totally tuned wrong for wet weather-
if you haven't read it- it's a good read.

I'll eventualy get an Evo, as a second car and will wait to se if if they actually start to come w/ more grunt like the STI. I've driven both on the track and the STI is still more fun to power around. The one thing my STI needs is a 11:1 rack and it's all good!
