water/methanol injection recommendations
I'm probably going to buy a meth kit for my wagon next week and was looking on line at certain "kit" could someone fill me in on what is a good company. I'm lookin at this kit
http://www.alcohol-injection.com/wat...rx-sti-69.html
anyone used this or know of a better company?
Any help/problems with/personal experience/tuning issues would be helpful. Also general power increases. And the big question, is it worth it on a DD? Thanks

Hi Josh,
Inquire about the fail safes they have availiable for the injection kit. I.e. clogged nozzle, low water, pump failure, etc. You'll be in big trouble if one of the above occurs since you'll obviously be running leaner for your tune. The Aquamist and Perrin PW-1 has those fail safes in ther system (expensive though, but worth the $$, imo)
I have the Perrin PW-1 in mines.

ojichan sti is right. With all due respect I'd avoid Perrin. I'll pay more for a product that is supported after the sale. I went down that road and it turned into a construction zone. Aquamist would be my choice, and may be my choice if I keep my Subaru. My C6 Corvette is speaking at me and it wants a supercharger or twin turbo kit. Not sure I can afford both the Vette, Tundra, and Subie, and the Subaru isn't very cop-friendly here in California. Hell, it wasn't cop-friendly in Oahu.

Hi San,
Aside from the customer service aspect of Perrin, Perrin worked closely and collaborated with Aquamist in developing their pump and fail safes systems for their product. Their fail safes and pump share many similar quality of components and ideas. Many mentioned Perrin PWI-1 as an Aquamist in disguise. But you're right, imo Aquamist is the best on the market. Btw go for the twin turbo!

I intentionally prefaced my opinion by stating "with all due respect" so as not to offend you. I didn't want to start an internet fight. Aquamist has a good reputation, so I'm glad that you have basically a similar or same system. I just haven't had good luck with Perrin, especially when they had to stand (not stand in my experience) behind their products. As far as the C6 goes, the twin-turbo kits aren't a lot more than the superchargers, but I'm trying to be patient and do my research. Plus, how much is enough? My C6 (~3150) weighs a bit more than my WRX (~2960) but the low end hp/tq is night and day. I haven't even been into the throttle yet (break-in). I was really thinking about selling the Subaru, but it is a very nice ride and is a totally different animal. I like the Tundra too. Decisions, decisions.

thanks for the help everyone, but since a mini van felt like making a lane change into me (with my pregnant wife in the car) on her side, this past weekend, i wont be buying any type of meth kit. They decided to lie and say i hit her so now insurance is claiming a "no fault" accident and i am required to pay my deductible.
