I've been 'killed' at close range by one of them.
When you're a slow moving convoy in the Mojave desert, there really isn't anywhere to go.
But below is my favorite plane.
Fairly small AVI
This guy can reach out and touch you from at least 7km's up in the air. If necessary, he'll always have 1) Attack or most probably fighter ships as it's security, 2) A FAC (forward air controller), 3) more 105mm howitzer, Vulcan, and M240G MG ammunition than probably my entire division.
I feel very safe and secure so long as I know I have these guys over my head and I can talk to them.
