Want to go Open Source but I have a MAC...

The ap does have a few nice features like the live tuning feature (saves a lot of time while tuning and dyno time isnt cheap). Also switching between maps is nice instead of lugging a laptop around and a few other features.
But in the end I'm poor and OS is cheap but you still achieve the same results with both products.

2.0 is compatible w/CAN systems MY06 I believe....I upgraded to the 2.0 so that I could use it between my EVO X and Suby. Other than that I never had any issues with the 1.3 and would have never dropped $180 for unless I absolutely needed it.
2.0 also has a built in micro SD slot but I really don't use it since 99.9% of time I am hooked up to my laptop looking at live feeds from stock sensors.
so when you want to come by and pick up the Tactrix cable?

Just run VMWare Fusion (If your mac is newer, it will come with it).
What I did on my 13" Macbook Pro was run VMWare Fusion, then I created a Windows XP SP3 WinLite disk (custom OS install, self-installer) and allocated about 50gb for the operating system and anything else needed. All I use it for is programming and I'll probably add in Open-Source since I don't have the extra cash right now for an AP.
CliffNotes:
-VMWare Fusion
-WinXP SP3
-Open-source install

use boot camp to install windows and create a partition for it to reside on. then install parallels on the mac partition. run parallels and have it boot the windows partition. this way you can drag and drop between windows and your mac seamlessly (as long as you have enough ram).
I've had pretty good luck with this combination. I haven't had a need for windows so I removed it
there is also a linux version of the rom raider software that will work on your mac. I think you still need windows to write to the ECU though.

here is one site..
I am a Noob to this Open Source thing. Jess, is helping me out.
I just took my Panasonic Touchbook to a Computer Shop to erase everything and install Anti-Virus. WHen I get it back, I am going to find out anything and everything about Open Source.
