Very sad day
I'm only posting this because it's already been leaked. It may seem that his sacrifice is no more than that of any other military person, but I think his is far greater.
I, for one, am very sad about it.

personally, I think it's Fu<king Bullsh*t!! how they plaster it all over the news. What about the Hundreds of others that are dying!!!!!???????? It is as tragic as ANYone else's death!
To *** to that, there was an interview this morning with some lady, and she basically said that b/c he couldn't "hack it" in the NFL, he jined the Army.
There were people today from PACOM that emailed CNN and others about their lack of respect for 'others'.

That's my first inclination. Not one soldier's death over here is any less tragic nor heroic than his. Personally, though, I think it's touching that he would give up what he had to do his part.
I spoke to a rep from his unit a couple of hours ago and he said that DOD released the information for widest distro, so I guess no one 'leaked'.

yeah well, it just gets to me (and obviously a lot of others) how it gets plastered everywhere.
I mean, it is as meaningful as the next man who would give his/her life, but to make such a big deal is so typical of the media. That is what makes me sick the most I think.
Men and women who have a family they leave behind give more up, IMO, ... rather than money.

Its not that its any more or less of a big deal than anyother service member that has died in action its that the death of Pat Tillman puts a name and a face to all this death for many people. Don't be upset about it think about all the people that normally wouldn't care about the people dying everyday and now they are thinking about it. If it makes only a few more people think about the unnamed massed because of this than thats ok with me.

Car Info: 2004 Subaru STI/WRX Silver of course
That like how they made such a big deal about Jessica Lynch what about the others that were POW's it seemed they weren't as important. I think they should do the same for every solider that is over there giving their life for us and the Iraqi people. No one person is above the rest....So with that I would like to give my thanks to all that are over there doing what they do also being in the military what I do it just dosen't seem so important right now compared to others

All soldiers in the war are great people and deserve respect and gratitude. No, if, ands, or, buts.
I really think Pat Tillman had a calling and he answered it. Not many people in his position would have done what he did. Give up, not only the money and fame, but a grande lifestyle of playing football that he probally loved very much and dreamed about doing when he was a kid. To leave his dreams behind to fight for his country, well...
Honestly, I would not have done such a brave thing as he did, call me an a$$...but ask yourselves if you would have done the same. Then you will know the answer to whether or not Pat Tillman was special.
