Used 2007 STi, what to look at?
Hello,
Someone is selling a used 2007 STi with 30.000KM (18750 miles) for $25000 ( will be equivalent of $12500 in USA).
It is dirty cheap and I wanted some tips to "what to look at" especially on a 07 STi.
I was told by the owner that the car is all stock except the turbo is a little bit bigger...
If anyone had a picture of the stock turbo with heat shield or what should be written on the turbo it will be great!
He is the 2nd owner and never had issue with it... but that turbo upgrade is strange, unless the 1st owner just had a big mouth and just tried add some magical HP to his car.
Thanks

vf43 is the stock turbo for that car. look for vacuum lines that have been changed out or bolts tampered with to tell if stuff has been there before.... also make sure fender bolts havent been removed so you know it wasnt in a accident

take it to a shop and have them do a compression test. Almost the most common thing to go wrong on the sti's are low compression when its on the factory map and sometimes even on cobb maps because its to late to save it from low compression.

unless buyer states that is the reason i highly doubt it. 90% of the time if fenders have been removed it was due to replacement or aftermarket fenders which would lead me to believe the car was heavily modded

The rims are stock, they are all like that from factory in Tahiti. ( EDM Spec)
I'm going to see the car Saturday and test it.
But lot of rumor on that car are:
- had front collision ( went in bush damaging front bumper and hood )
- had more than bolt-on parts before going back to stock.
- USDM spec?? because he had a CoBB on it.
- replaced sensor related to steering angle?
- replaced DCCD Module?
will see
