Tuners in HI?
Hmm, checking the Clifford site now and I dont see anything mentioned about the TT output on there. Any idea where you saw that? Probably just one of the 100 options that just dont scream TT or something. Maybe is it just a car warm down timer? That would in essence work the same I guess. Setting it to run for 3 minutes after locking it. Or something like that.
I got one
I got the IG 7000 in my car, it is indeed a " car warm down timer " read: not a real turbo timer ( that varies time based on engine temp ) but it's good enough.....it can be set anywhere from like 5 sec to around 5 min. The pain though is that you have to press a button on the remote before you shut off the car. I think it's a steal at around $475, you get a great alarm and a "turbo timer" in one.....plus no wiring issues.

it seems good....
yeah, i got the IG 7000, too... it does take a while to get used to pressing the electricity button or whatevers.. but u'll get used to it. i like the fact that i can silently alarm the car, too. and if i forget to put up a window & the key is out of the ignition.. hit the button and i get the electrics on... the only irritating this is that i hafta be close to the car to arm/disarm the alarm. something's up with my set-up, i've taken it back to my installer (intalltech) once or twice... and jus too lazy to get back on it. (lazy-- how long have i had that uppipe sitting in my room?) it's doing the job jus fine so that's good enuff. i like the 2 things in 1.. keeping it simple.

I'll have to check that out once I get there. I didnt even think about how the TT would have to interact with the alarm. Is the stock alarm just worthless then? I want to have the windows rollup and all that, I guess thats not an option on stock.
Thanks for the suggestions on the TT. I was looking at the Blitz TT at Speedgear today. They have a bunch, but no wiring harness. Then I would have to try and figure out how to get it to work correctly with my security system.
Other then the cost the alarm (IG 7000) may be the best way to go. When I checked the Clifford site they do list TT as an optional feature under the comparison list. As state above though I guess it's just a set timed one.
Steve,
was that $475 installed or just for the alarm? I wonder if they will charge extra to uninstall my existing alarm.

Ack, me cutting wires is a scary plan. =) I might just check into the alarms that will allow the car to run for an additional 3-5 mins or something like that. It might not be the real turbo timer, but it should do the job I would think.
Appreciate the link. Will see what solutions are out there as soon as I get moved and got the car.
Thanks, Dave

Sorry to just barge in on this post, but I agree with islandx. Those of you that need a tt-like function, and a quality alarm, get the Clifford and go to Island Sound. The install is top notch, and they take the time to walk you through the features of the alarm. I got mine installed for about 5 bills. Also, their service doesn't stop after you drive the car off their lot. If I recall, there's a dude working there that owns a rex.

Alarm and TT
Had my Clifford installed at Mobile Car Audio and they put a solenoid between the alarm and TT to "isolate" the two. Basically, the alarm doesn't "see" the car is still on, and you can arm it while the TT counts down. You may have to tune the alarm's sensitivity, but even with my Tanabe exhaust, mine is set at full sensitivity, with no problems. Now if I forget to turn the stereo off, it's a different story.

Speaking of ****ty alarms...
I was at PT this morning, and one of the guys in my platoon was messing around with the car with the alarm armed. I grabbed my roof rack bars and started rocking the car back and forth at a pretty good rate.
I wasn't too pissed about him rocking the car because I know the guy well and he wasn't hurting anything. I was pissed that my upgraded Automate Alarm I got from Schuman did not go off.
I don't want to go spend another $500 for an alarm when I already have one, because that's $500 I could put to MUCH better use IMHO.
Is there any way to up the sensitivity on the Automate without going back to Schuman? Nothing I've read so far in the instruction book... OK, I didn't really read it, just glanced through it before it disappeared.
Thanks

Greg alarms only work off of a shock or jar to the car, and not rocking motions. Hit your car with your fist or palm in some key places and see if it works. That is a true test of functionality.
