Is it true, and why?
I heard that if you put a BOV on the wrx or stis that you will
have engine problems later. Do you need to run a fuel
management system or something, and also what would be
a cool exhaust to put on my sti, i was thinking about hks cf
hi-power but i dont know yet.
Thank for the input, very much appreciated!

As long as you get a good bov and install it correctly, I don't see anything thats really detrimental. People get paranoid by how you run rich that split second you shift(causing the bov to release). I don't think that harms the engine that causes engine problems later in its life. Add to that, there is 2 types of BOV's in the market. Atmospheric and recirculating. Atmospheric releases the unused charged air into the atmosphere while recirculating throws it back into the intake stream. Both will have the "wooosh" sound. Hell I have a stock bypass bov and its loud as hell imo. I don't think I want to get anything louder than that. Steven and Stephen(scsi) can account to how loud it is.
Cool exhaust...eh.?!?!? umm the exhaust systems in the market for the WRX is not about cool. Its about what you want. Do you want quiet rumble or so-loud-you-wake-up-the-whole-neighborhood rumble? Do you want low end or top end? Thats the choices you have to make. Its not about looks. The ugliest exhaust WRX exhaust system in the world has one of the best low end power gains of any exhaust system. I think everyone in this forum can agree that most aftermarket exhaust system are about the same if they're the same diameter(2.5/3.0/3.5").
Wes runs the HKS CF-Ti universal muffler on his Greddy Evo catback piping.
Jon runs Blitz Nur Spec Racing catback
Dan's STI runs a Tanabe Super Spec Racing Medallion(I think)
Richard has a TXS Stealthback with Prodrive axleback
Steven has that rare as hell, don't bite his *** Apex Hayabusa.
Russ has the Blitz NUr Spec Touring catback
Andrew has the HKS CF-Ti catback
I have that god damn TXS TBE RFL-Ti in my cousin's house.
and the list goes on...
Its all about what you want.

I can log, so at the time I had a problem being too lean after a shift, I decided to put Wes' atmo BOV on to see if it might help. I believe it did. No more after-shift det.
Not very scientific, but my experience nonetheless.

why do you want a loudest bov? if you want the loudest and riciest bov go for the Turbo XS RFL. its loud, its good, and you'll get plenty of giggles and chuckles from HIIC members.
