Torco Mach-1 Unleaded Race Fuel Concentrate

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has heard of this new Torco Mach-1 stuff. Apparently if you add half the 32oz can to a full tank of gas you get like 93.5-94.5 octane, if you add the whole 32oz can to a full tank you get 104 octane. sounded like a good idea, but not sure if the product was harmful or not. Also I'm running the AP Stage 2 91 octane on my WRX, would I have to set the AP to a higher octanne every time I use it, or would it work fine with the Stage 2 91 octane? I always thought the higher the octane the better but what the hell do I know. I know use the search button, but I trust the opinions of the HIIC folks.

Thanks Hommies!

i heard of that torco stuff. it's just expensive and shipping it isn't recommended.

regarding your AP though. since we have 92 ocatne in Hawaii it is recommended to use 91 octane map to use that map to it's fullest (even though it's not tuned for our weather conditions). if you do use that torco stuff and do increase your octane I would definately get the most octane as possible. remember that they say that it raises your octane level to 93+ however if you use the 93 octane map with the AP you need to make sure that it's at LEAST 93 octane you know? there is at least a 5HP difference between the 91 and 93 octane map.

If I were going to try the stuff I would just use the whole bottle but that's just me since I'd like to be able to get the most for my money!

What I would do is price the cost of 1 can of that stuff and a full tank of 91 octane plus shipping. and divide that result by 16 since we have a 15.9 gallon gas tank. if that number is UNDER $6 a gallon and you get the results of higher octane then it MIGHT be worth trying. If it comes out more what I would recommend to you is going to 76 on King street before Longs Moiliili and get 100 octane at the pump for $6.009 a gallon and mix it with your 91 to get 94+ octane.

If that's to steep then try the xylene option.

A lot of us "ole skool" guys have been using xylene and we like the resuls. but the more people that try it means the less will be on the shelf making it more expensive.

just some word for thought!

I trust the 76 on king street method simply because you know what you're getting everytime. But really on an AP, I think the difference in minimal between the 91 and 93 octane maps. But of course higher octane make you car happy.

i fully support the torco stuff as far as working. my sti used to pull back at scca consistently on pump gas several different gas pump fillups. they i used the torco unleaded, about half to 3/4 tank and no more problems. it works. also used it on my sr20det and the GF's one. endless and hypers carry them. not sure where else. note: endless is now at pc industrial. i can see if i can get a group disc if enough people order. let me know. b
