Tie rod snapped today :(

Was pulling out of my gf's drive way and tried to turn but felt really loose. So I tried to drive forward but would let me because it felt like one wheel was pointing in one direction while the other wheel was pointing straight so I took a look and seen what I think is the outer tie rod hanging out on the ground. I'll post pics.

wow weird usually takes a lot to break tie rods. Good thing it didn't happen on the road or something.

That's interesting. How low is your car? What aftermarket tie rods are those? They look pretty rusty.

Haha Jess. But I really don't know. I'm trying to find out from the previous owner. Maybe it was oiled regularly...idk but I wanna find aftermarket ones. Any good company out there?

Get an OEM one.
The bolt used on that aftermarket one obviously didn't have a very good shear rating or wasn't the right grade for automotive use.

Damn, I assumed it was the 6gun when I seen your thread title.6 gun are not really notorious but a few faultered. Brent/Island Style experienced it and so have Jon/iNfEk too. Just get OEM like jared said and you wont be worrying anymore.

From the looks of it this might have been one from an earlier version, their kit now is a completely different design that utilizes the oem tierod. If I ever needed an extender I'd get the whiteline one. Its closer to OEM in form and function.
