thinking of charity event
i am a old time member of strictly-s and back then we used to do a anual food drive cruz to give back to the comunity .... i would like to start that up with the subaru community! but before anything gets started up, i would like some feedback....... what does eveyone think abou it seriously? i would appreciate good and negative inputs... i think it would benifit the subarus community and it would benifit the people in need even more!!!! what does everyone think???? thanks!

I think it's a good idea Davin. It's a win win situation, since families in need will benefit from the food/goods donations, and it portrays a positive image for the Suby community. My family and I will definitely be there if you guys plan something.
On that same note, I'm very proud to say that our body shop will be doing a similar charitable event later this year. We're a member of the National Auto Body Council, and the event is called "Recycled Rides" (link for more info: http://www.autobodycouncil.org/pressreleases.htm#RR08). Basically, our shop will be working hand in hand with a non-profit organization (to be determined), State Farm insurance, our parts vendors, and the media to repair a vehicle and donate it to a working family in need of reliable transportation. I'm proud to say that our shop is stepping up to give back to the community and I think we'll probably receive some great publicity as well. The goal is to donate 100 cars on the same day across the US. I'm just very proud and glad to be a part of it.

this is walter.. Did you by any chance have a invoice/receipt done for the donation prizes/sponsorship for the Aloha United Way cruise??? Dont mean to hassle but want everyone to be on the ball for this type of thing!!! Anyways any charity cruise is an awesome thing to do and would help the community and build our reputation even more!!
