Thinking about getting a new turbo

Hey guys, i was thinking about picking up a fp hta68 turbo for my 2007 legacy gt as it bolts up directly to where the stock one goes with out major adjustments. and its a decent price. I wanted to know if any one has used or is using this turbo and how you like it and what kind of gains to expect from it. Also open to other suggestions for turbos if any one knows any that are direct bolt on with out any major modifications. O n last thing this might be a newb question, but what does it mean when buying the turbo they give u the option to get it ported? and if its better than not having it ported.

Thanks you guys lmk

HTA 68 is a Great Mid-Range Turbo.
I was running a HTA 68 when my car was on the Dyno.
I like it, but I don't love it.
What are your power goals?
Ported is having the housing bored out alittle. It's better for airflow. It's better to have it of course, but you don't need it? If you have the money go for it!

I myself will be looking into a Holset HX60

But I'm really iffy since that's a huge turbo, and may go smaller.

Mid to high 3's. Do you guys have e85 there yet? With a good tune and supporting mods, you could achieve this on an 18g size turbo and ethanol.

That sucks. My amateur recommendation is a stock location ewg ATP 3076 with a big top mount to reduce fmic lag, at least 750cc injectors, a 3" samco turbo inlet, and a decent air intake. The ATP 3076 has an optional integrated external wastegate setup. Check it out.

I have a plain Jane FP Green turbo on my 05 LGT.

Pretty happy with it for what it does. The HTA should be much better! Good luck!

You should also check out this site for dedicated LGT owners:

I don't know why no one buys any of the dodge diesel turbos. Really cheap, flows very nice, push good numbers and are easy to find.

the turbo is a wrx fitment turbo. you'll need to do a front mount with the hta68 to fit the legacy.

cause alot of people dont want to do a custom up pipe or exaust setup. obviously he is looking at a hta68 so he probably wants a stock location turbo. not a rotated setup
but i myself am thinking about a borg s256
