Are there any VW fans?????

Monday when I was at Schuman I started walking around the Tony group lot next door and I couldn't believe it they have a R32 that is one bad looking VW. 240 hp, 6spd, 4motion, wicked seats & interior 18in wheels big brakes and of course it was already my favorite color silver with black interior. Too bad price was too high for a VW. Car was around $29k but they had a $4995.00 mark up which I wouldn't pay but it is a good looking car none the less seemed lowered a bit also it had been driven wheels were covered with brake dust and tires were scuffed and it had almost 150 miles so they could eat there mark up on that one. And for some reason the grill was laying on the passenger seat not sure about that front of the car looked fine just dirty from sitting.......

I think they put the grill in there so it wont get stolen.

I think it's a neat cat but I'd get a WRX for less.

A friend of mine is picking up an R32 this afternoon. Maybe I can convince him to let me drive it.

I'd have to drive it first, but it does sound awfully promising.

Is this a car that the aftermarket is already there for or is it brand new engineering?

I'm gonna do a little research.

Oh yeah, and does it come in wagon tirim?

WRX
Code:
Displacement cu in (cc): 122 (1994)
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 227(167) / 6000
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 217(294) / 4500
Golf R32
Code:
Displacement cu in (cc): 194 (3189)
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 241(177) / 6250
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 236(320) / 2800
Are Golfs difficult to throw a turbo manifold on? Are there a lot of EM options available? What's the block, pistons, conrods, etc. made out of?

It comes with a VR6 but if it were a inline 4 putting a manifold would be easy they I beleive are on the back side on the block can kinda be a pain. I put a header on a VW I used to have it went easy but I had put all new studs in the head while I had the head off so that helped...http://www.autotech.com/, http://www.newdimensions.com/2003/index.html
http://www.chip-tuning.com/

http://www.vwsites.com/ There is a lot of info on this one...
There is another one it is something like Tectonics or something like that..Lots of stuff out there for them VW owners are like people in a cult or something like that.........

It would be easier to tune if it came with the 1.8T.

Just when you thought that a 4 dr AWD car like the Evo/STi was already porky at 3265, you discover the R32 3 dr 3409 lb behemoth. Where's all this weight coming from? I figure it is all the interior insulation and creature comforts.

The R32 is on the comfortable end of the performance spectrum where the Evo/STi is on the go-fast end of the performance side. For 30k, I would rather buy a A4 1.8T.

Here is a story on the R32 here. It is the right car at the wrong time. I think it will sell though. There's all those people who wanted the AWD, power, handling, and exclusivity of the STi/Evo but didn't like the boy racer looks. The R32 caters to those individuals. I expect to see the R32 placed in D Stock like the 1st gen S4. Consider its weight its fatal flaw.

I did see one at the last auto-x I was at and it really is a handsome car. It's styling is subtle and the interior is tasteful. The seats have really large bolsters and are really nice. The R32 can easily be confused for any other tastefully tricked out Golf IV. However from a performance standpoint, it is has little going for it.

OMG! Say that on VWVortex.com and they'll slap you silly! The R32 has the same "cult status" with dubbers that the STi has with Suby lovers! Yes, I'm a VW fan.

Took one for a ride. I really like it but I don't think I'd buy it over an STI or an EVIL. Especially for DEALER MARKUP $4BAZZIOLLION THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!! Crak is what they're on and Crank is what the person that YOU KNOW will pay that much for it.

Here's the pics, though. I didn't beat on it too bad.
