Then you, my friend, have tight nuts....
LOL!

thanks for the laugh josh!

this is information for my HIIC peeps! I know it's a technical issue but I'm sick of having just garbage in HIIC I decided to put something useful up... plesae stick to the topic though... A lot of HIIC members own Teins and wanted to make sure that we're safe while driving...

In the pictures that I posted though I didn't show how the top nut was sitting directly on the bearing and the shavings are from the constant rubbing... if you've got an alignment done recently and have adjustable top hat/pillow ball mounts you'll want to check this as well

this is for HIIC because of the crappy roads we have here. this problem might only be specific to this region because we can't simulate our horrible road conditions in other places.

iNfEk 02-28-2005 02:08 PM

well yeah and the fact that I don't want Alex or anyone to give me **** about posting it in HIIC...

but I'm pretty sure that people in the mainland have complained about this as well already
Just wondering if it is the same case for the so known "STi rear Upper Mount" Clunking noise! it might be just a loose nut!
It could be worth it to check that. Hrm...

hey jon
my rears coilovers makes that clunking noise when i hit bumps in the road.
i thought that was common for the type flex coilovers. (everything is tight on mine)
does your rears coilovers make that clunking noise?
OLO... it's not a squeezing noise

it's a CLUNK!

it's the noise fo a loose top hat/pillow ball mount...etc. that give excessive travel of the strut causing it to CLUNK against each other everytime you go over a bump wrong...

ANYONE WITH THESE COILOVERS SHOULD CHECK THIS OUT... they are not bad coilovers... they just need to be checked if they are tight enough... if they aren't DO NOT use an impact gun on your car... if you have this problem... post up and I'll tell you how I fixed it without taking the wheels off the car and taking the suspension appart... if it's on the back then you'll have a slightly bigger problem resolving it since you don't have any adjustments in the rear.

i have the same exact coilover with the same issue ....the problem is when i tighten to spec when i take it for a run when i i get back i have to tighten it again....any reason why it does that
