tC for a WRX

First of all let me start by saying I did own an 06 tC but I got tired of it so I traded it for an 05 WRX. I'm loving the car, handling and everything thing else about it so far. I didn't start modding yet but hopefully when I receive the next paycheck I will. I have a few questions and I did use the search button but couldn't find anything.

Do you think a custom made exhaust from Exhaust System Hawaii would be a good idea and which exhaust tip should I choose or should I just order a exhaust system online and install it myself? Also does flowmaster exhaust add performance to a SUB or it's just strictly for american muscle? Sorry for the noob question's, I did use the search button but found nothing. So which would be a better idea ;]?

1-if you do a custom exhaust by esh they will prob weld the piping to your stock downpipe. if you plan to not upgrade your downpipe and anything else in the motor, it would be ok. but the iclub preference is a true bolt on exhaust.

2-flowmaster, would be different but it rattles, someone did it on here already. in better advice for flowmaster, dont get it, it is better on N/A cars.

keep an eye on the classifieds, a catback will mostly likely pop up sometime.

I have an "ESH special" exhaust. It's a HKS Carbon Ti muffler with 3" piping. But, what my friend did was to cut the stock midpipe to use the flange, and then weld in 3" piping with a resonator back to the muffler. The end result was a 1 piece exhaust that bolts right up to the stock DP or an aftermarket that uses the donut type flange, like a PDE or Cobb.

Buy an aftermarket exhaust...you'll find some in the classifieds here, I'm sure.

The ESH or any other shop jobs haven't been flow or sound tested and sometimes you end up with something you didn't want.

Most of the aftermarket bolt on stuff has been tried and you can get opinions in the review section up above.

go with a good catback to start with, then upgrade the downpipe and uppipe, but buy a bolt on one, and do it yourself, it takes like 20 minutes for a first timer. Be sure to look into exhaust hangers as well.

thank you for all the feedbacks. i did a custom exhaust from esh before for my tC and did not like the raspy ricer sound at all. hopefully i'd be able to find a bolt on exhaust on the classified ;] but if you know anyone let me know thanks.

I prefer a ture bolt on exhaust. HKS, Blitz, Tanabe, JIC Magic, Greddy, Borla, etc. are just a few of the many good exhaust brands out there for our cars.

Don't worry... the boxer rumble is awesome.

im not being an *** but custom catbacks are a no-no in my book for subarus. not saying that i dont like custom exhausts i would on some other cars but not a subaru. better to purchase one that is made specifically for your wrx.
