Anyone with STIs, what are you running for Subwoofers in your car?? I was told that the STIs trunk is pretty soundproof and that a sealed sub box would not do to well....I already have 2- 10" Lighting Audio sealed box and a Crossfire amp that I had planned to use. Anyone with the similiar setup, please let me know how the sound is.....
Thanks

i don't have any expertise with the STI but i'm going to say they are built the same as the RS and WRX minus some sound dampening. with that in mind i'm not sure who told you that they are sound proof b/c the rear seats aren't super thick and padded. if you like the sound of your two 10s then use them. they will sound great.
Thats interesting....never thought anyone would ever say it was pretty soundproof. My opinion is it's like a tin can
I always have been and always will be a fan of sealed enclosures because they offer superior sound quality versus bandpass, ported, vented, etc. It really depends on your tastes and how much output you're interested in. IMO I'd consider finding a way to get the bass into the cabin rather than going with one of the "other" types of enclosures.
Also, if you want anything more than moderate bass output you will probably want to go ahead with dampening the trunk (it will rattle).....and its no Bimmer
I'm running a single JL 12W6 in a small sealed enclosure (off a Xtant 6.1). Moderate output.....and things to vibrate/rattle at higher volumes....no sound proof trunk. You could consider venting the rear deck to get more bass in the cabin and reduce pressure in the trunk.

Don't know how much of a thump you are looking for by my JL 8W7 in the JL (non-portted) box will thump the crap out of ya. Only pushing it with a JL 250 mono-block, but it sounds good - still need to DynaMat the trunk though to get rid of some of the rattle. Like acarguy said "its no Bimmer."
