I just have to say that at least here in Hawaii Subaru owners have to be one of the tightest groups of people who have never met. Everyone has mutual respect for every other Subaru owner's car. Everyday I drive and pass an oncomming WRX, STI, RS, etc. and I always get waved to or honked at or whatever. I just have to say it is great. Yesterday I saw a darkish orange WRX at Alamona and the female driver waved and noded at me, couldn't find any parking spaces in the area, but I would have like to talk to here. Then later on by Kaneohe a blue wagon passed by and the guy waved. Then heading away from windward a white wagon with a carbon fiber hood decided to show off and blew past me, it was especially easy for him since I was going to Taco Bell, but I waved to the driver. I just have to say that no other car group or any group I've been in is like this. It's awsome!

 

jeep owners used to do this all the time before...mostly in the 80's when the CJ-7 was the $hit...combine it with the boom of CB radios back then and you have a whhole lotta enthusiasts...jeep comraderie sort've died down with the introduction of the wrangler and AMC not continuing the jeep line, but with chrysler taking it over...

my parents had a jeep in 1985, so i know first hand...i even had a cb radio in it...when i took over the jeep when i was 15, i would still see some of the waving and honking from fellow CJ-5/CJ-7 owners...

We probably didn't have much going on as a group. Bad excuse, I know. I don't remember when you said you were coming, but it sounds like it was probably weird timing or something. When we've got an event, pretty much anyone is welcome.
