yup... this sort of thing happens to young children (from what I've heard) and it is supposed to be pretty painful since all you hear is the roach!

they usually say that it's the baby roaches that you have to worry about since they are tiny and can fit in your ear. but having one about 1 inch long is pretty scarey stuff.

hope you recover ok.

sorry to hear about that dave.

I guess from now on you'll have to get some ear plugs/muffs...etc

Jon

Damn Dave! I have lived here most of my life and I have heard many roach stories, but yours just sent shivers down my spine.

I am glad you are ok!

dont buy traps buy boric acid from home depot or where ever and spread it along the edges of your house out side and inside, if you have small children its safe for humans but deadly for the raoch colony. i doesnt destroy roaches it destroys there eggs muaHAhAHhhaa

werd. when i first got my apartment i had some roaches coming in and out. when we rennovated, we threw down boric acid and diotamacious earth down, and sealed all cracks and holes. the boric acid poisons them when they eat it; the diotamacious(sp?) earth kills them when they eat it, but also cuts through their exoskeleton when they walk through it which ends up killing them(sorta like if you were to walk naked through a field of glass-on a larger scale)

That is some fear factor $hit. WOW. Good thing your ok man. I live on AMR (military housing) we have some huge roaches. My wife is so terrified of those things. Tonight she wants to go out and buy some ear plugs or ear muffs. THANKS GUYS...... But yeah boric acid really works. Now we rarely see any of the B52 cockaroaches anymore.

Damn, lucky that wasn't me. I would've had to take at least a week off from work, during which time I'd be in a sanitized corner of my apartment, weeping like a little *****. But thats just me, I hate roaches.

it was hell. i think the brother of the ear roach came back for revenge because last night while i was trying to sleep. i had one side of the ear phone of my ipod in my right ear and the other my wife had in hers. i felt something crawling by the left side of my head on the pillow. i grabed it so fast that it had no chance. i told my wife that i got another one and she jumped out of bed all scared. i then went to my pet flower horn and feed the roach to it. it was the same size as the one that went in to right ear. i was so shaken up. i'm gonna do what you guys suggest. i'm getting sick of this crap. damn roaches. sorry to gross you guys out but i just had to share it.
