Goodyear F1 GS-D3. Check the reviews. Basically a racing rain tire. I needed to make a turn last night I wasn't anticipating. My Michelin Pilot Sports probabaly wouldn't have supported that turn. They were excellent tires, but the Goodyears are truly trackable tires. I have another set on some 20004 STI BBS wheels and some R-compounds on some 17X8.5 SSRs. The 17X8.5 SSRs with the R-compounds make you feel like Superman (or SuperSan). The Goodyears wear well. Built in Germany (who'd figure). As usual, I'm completely in a different direction than others.

Great price
Kumho MX tread wear 220 reviews not so good in the wet. I think kdw2 would be better in the wet

Federal 595. They are 240 treadwear have very controllable grip, easy to regain once you exceed their grip and are very cheap.

I have a set on one set of race wheels for my Miata and have a 235-45-17 set waiting for my STi.

I'd still take the MXs over KDW2s based on dry grip/feel. I figure I'm not flying it at insane speeds in the rain anyway. Good for the price, better in the dry.

I'm in the market for new tires too. I think its gonna be a toss up between the Ventus RS2 and the Kumho MX.
