I placed my order 2 weeks ago, and my dealer called me back today to give me some information. First he said that my WRX STI will be 31,586 USA Dollars. Second that he ordered mine with out the wing and Silver rims insted of the Gold.

I'm still guessing between 32-34K...

Just got back tonight from the Portland Auto Show where I got a chance to sit in, fondle and otherwise drool on a 04 WRX STI.
Here's what I was told by several dealer reps and SOA vice-somethings:
1) Factory sticker will be closer to 33-35,000 (from factory rep)
2) Dealer sticker will be closer to 37-40,000 (from a couple of dealer reps!!! Can you spell G-R-E-E-D!!)
3) The cars, as the come from Japan DO NOT HAVE RADIOS. A Radio will be a DEALER option ($$$$$$$$$$).
4) Colors will be Blue, Black, White and Silver.
5) Some dealers will NOT get the cars. There is a list but nobody was talking.
6) Cars should be arriving in May. SOA claims that they will supply 300 cars per month to the dealer pool.
7) Some dealers have received promo books, but SOA rep at show said no special orders will be taken. Cars come as they are. It does seem reasonable that a spoiler could be a delete as they are not shipped with the spoiler attached. However, for safety reasons, would they want to sell one without a spoiler?? (These cars have a 150 mph top end.)

I hope this isn't true, but who really knows til May. I have no problem with paying $32K but if we're talking $37-40K out the door, I may have to rethink this purchase. Especially without a radio. Definately not good news.

I'm with you on that. 32K (which will be close to 35K out the door) is a no-brainer, but as the price moves above that I start thinking twice.
It sounds like they are talking dealer markup when they mention 37-40K. So as long as they stick with MSRP here, it shouldn't be too bad.
Like you said though, we won't know until they officially release MSRP and until then everything is rumour.

Did anyone take the time to figure out that at 300 cars a month, that only makes 3600 cars a year. What the hell is that? 3600 cars a year for the most anticipated car to come out on 2 years? I think if that is true we should tell SOA to lick my a$$ and everyone else's because we don't deserve to be treated like a herd of cattle that they can round up in order to price discriminate and make their dealers rich. That kind of attitude that SOA is showing us is an insult, and maybe, just maybe that EVO and the people at Mitsubishi deserve our attention if for no other reason, treat us like intelligent car enthusists.

I can get an S2000 at home for $31,000 w/hardtop.
(I should have got the yellow one that had 125 miles, for $29,000 w/hardtop.)
