STi Mesh Air Dam Insert

Just wondering what everyone thinks of the mesh instead of just the open space. Its temporary until I decide whether I like it or not. Going to order more and replace the grill as well just to see what it looks like as well. Also took off the STi logo front and back, just dont need anything on there that the punks would want.

I think wide open almost always looks better but if it doesn't look bad its worth using the mesh. I think you should keep it if it secure. Did you buy it pre-fab or did you cut it to size and make mounts yourself? Have you thought about some for the scoop too? I think several mainland people have done it.....but I'm not sure yet if I will. I'll only do it if it can be done well. Your lower air dam looks great!!

Believe it or not, that mesh is what I like to have. When they took out the bumper on my car, they found alot of bird feathers/bugs/leaves stuck on it, degrading my radiator performance.

I'll be the first to say it: I hate it. I have NO LOVE for mesh on a car. IMNSHO it looks like ***. But it is your car.

Just cut it myself. Dont ask how its mounted, I didnt cut anything since I didnt want to leave reminders of it if I decide its too ricey.
I like it and then I dont. Looks too much like a ton of ricer cars I see, but who cares. Not like it matters much, its my car and Im just screwing with it.

Im going to do the grill and scoop and just see what I think. Scoop probably wont look so hot, but atleast I wanna match the grill.

Probably not. Was thinking black or something a bit more stealthy, but who knows. Just messing around now. Might keep it might not.

Well you will only have to see it at track day when you are lapping me, just dont look in your rearview mirror cuz you'll see the mesh and this:

for passing me of course...

I've seen it before from STi drivers (Muhahahaha! that's what a missed shift will cost you, Damon! ) and I'm sure I'll see it again.

I'll return the favor by showing you my white butt! I'm flexible and coordinated.

I hope I can drive in this one. I have some new goodies coming, and they will let me be that much CRAZIER on the track.

you can barely tell it's even there. As long as your happy, that's all that matters.

Yeah I think thats why I like it. With the plate on its not like screaming LOOK AT THIS RICE so its just subtle. I was bored, something to do I guess. Was taking off the sti badges anyways so figured I would try it and see...

It would look better painted (black).

Looks too close to ordinary hardware store wire (too shiny). I like the open look better. If I owned an STI, I'd want it subtle (relatively speaking). I prefer my WRX subtle also. I have some color underneath the car. But most don't see it. My $0.02.

i have mesh on mine. threw it on after the first month after three 1/4" rocks pelted my radiator. it is very subtle and can't be seen unless you are close and personal with my bumper.
