STI Blow off valve
I was wondering if a blitz blow off valve for the wrx would have to be adjusted different for an STI? I mean the STI boost is 14.5 psi, a lot higher than a stock wrx. Will the blitz work ok out of the box? How do you know what the right amount to turn that ****?
Please let me know.
Thanx

sti stock boost is not a lot higher than stock wrx boost, it's about the same.
and yes, it will work fine, you would adjust it just as you would if you put it on any car.

Like Sean said the STI boost is the same as the WRX at about 14.7PSI (variable) I have installed on for the WRX onto an STI myself and I know that it works just fine!
To answer your other question it's to your preference how much you turn the ****. For us we used about 4~5 Threads sticking out!
Remember the more you tighten the higher you have to boost to hear the sound of the bov!

When venting to the atmosphere, you're going to end up running really rich. It could cause hesitations, or maybe not. For a timed run, it could slow you down, ..... it might even help you out if you're running higher boost, or in general, just a leaner condition. I'd have to say it all depends on how your car's ECU reacts to it.
Now, if you want an aftermarket BOV, but don't want those problems it might cause, you can buy one that can vent back into the Intake tract just as the stock one does.
BTW, the stock BOV can handle over 20psi easily.
all that being said, .... I likey my HKS SSBOV!
Thanks for the info, as a turbo noo-b, I still have some questions. I also think that the HKS BOV looks good, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't, but I really love the BOV sound. Does your HKS recirculate "like stock"? I think I know the purpose of the BOV, but does the recirculating have an effect on the sound of the BOV? Would appreciate your expertise.
