What's the difference. I want to get a high performance clutch installed in my bugeye wagon but don't have a clue to which one: Upgrades on my car - Cobb Access Port, Intake, Exhaust, Suspension, WHeels not much.

if you dont plan to add any more power getting a exedy stage 1 clutch is good enough. you dont need a stage 3 clutch thats way to much for the simple mods you have

do not buy a clutch based on what stage your car is. thats a no no..... you want your clutch as your fuse box not your tranny. if your still rocking at stock gear box run a stage 1 exedy or act street disc nothing more.

ACT and Exedy clutches have that super heavy feel, everyone and their brothers have one. If you get a Clutchmasters clutch, Stage 2 (bolt-ons) and Stage 3 (mild forced induction) feels smooth, if not smoother than stock, while holding all your power. The spring design is built differently from the rest of the other clutches on the market. I have a stage 3 on my FWD, the only things that went boom on my drivetrain are 4 original CV boots!! I just changed the 4th one last Friday haha. I get alot from people telling me my tranny will explode, I'm still running smooth...
I swear by Clutchmasters if you want to save your tranny and your left calf. Picking clutches depends on your torque capacity as well.

s**t i had a competition clutch stage 2 and i wasnt driving stupidly (dumping clutches etc.), and i dont have ANY problems with my tranny. clutches should be the weakest link but if you can drive responsibly and adapt to the clutch, then youll be fine. exception is puck clutches and all those race type bastards, id at least like a little driveability!

agreed! i run that clutch and the ACT streetlite flywheel.....no complaints. feels a little stiffer than stock to me. i daily drive my car too. the craziest clutch ive driven was in my honda, 6 puck...would not recommend that for a street car
RPS Stage 1 organic with act streetlight flywheel FTMFW! Rides and feels like stock but holds up to great power. I'm running about 370hp and 390tq and it holds up great! I've been on it for about 20,000 miles so far
