squeaky shocks

I've noticed that when my shocks compress they are no longer silent. There is a very slight "ffft" sound that goes on when I take a speed bump or when the car leans into a corner. Is this a sign that I should replace my shocks please please please please.

The reason I'm interested is that, in my house, when something breaks, we upgrade it. However, now is not a really good time for upgrades (getting ready to move away and not drive my car for a few months) But if I have to....

Let me know your honest opinions, not your "Greg wants to buy them, so let's encourage him" answer.
Thanks

You are going to get more noise from coil overs.

I don't mind the noise. I just want to know if it's a sign of excess wear. Between my driving, Auto-x, and track day it wouldn't surprise me.

they don't feel weak at all. I can just hear things I've never heard before. Otherwise they're fine. I'm just looking for an excuse to upgrade, though.

I've had "squeaky shocks" for a long time already. Never really thought it was a problem because I thought it was basically the "compression" of it. Its not harsher or worse than before, it just makes a compression noise. Like when you squish gas.

I have the same problem right now. Just a week ago I started hearing a squeak/popping sound from my right front side of the suspension. It sounds like the spring. I made an appointment to have the dealer check on it. For crying out loud, I just bought the car last month and it only has 1300 miles. I shouldn't be hearing any squeaks or pops. The only way I can make it stop is to turn my radio up.
