i previously had a kitted 7th gen celica and i used to get punked out A LOT.
but now after switching to a subie, i get more shaka's and nods than before.
this feeling is something new to me and i kinda think its cool.
rex guys tend to show more respect than other imports.
kinda gay but i just felt like sharing. hehe

yes. thats one really neat thing about our community- part of the reason for a different atmosphere is because wrx/STi's are not cheap. so the clientele generally is in another type of tax bracket(hopefully that politically correct)
we don't have young punks buying our cars and punking out everyone on the road. we might have a bad apple here and there... and an occasional "old punk"

^^ Couldn't have said it better. You pay more for the car, but, that is mostly a good thing because most "ricers" can't afford it. Most people with wrxs are more established and imo a lot smarter overall. Also the cheapest wrxs are usually '02s and I think part of the reason ricers don't buy it is because they do not like the bugeye look, which is good for the suby community. I do not mean to offend anyone if I did, this is just my opinion.

that young kid of which you speak---- works 40 hours a week as a cook. tries his best to keep the car. even though he had some engine issues(in the past) he is a good guy-- maybe just an introvert(and he is full on filipino and into his own thing). we talk once in whaile when i stop by his job. and yes he did buy from subaru kaneohe... but not me. we just know each other now.
and besides i-club is just a resource.. not a requirement

Aloha dude, i used to own a 00 Celice GT-S. Never really had an probs with people wanting to race or trying to punk me. I to am converting to the subie family and will be taking delivery of a 05 Legacy Gt Lmt monday. I cant friggin wait! Hell, i already have my mod path tentatively planned out. =))
