Some small new mods I just finished...

1. HKS SSQV Recirc.
2. CF Air Ramp/Grill mod to help the air flow into the stock intake better...

Here are some Pics...

For those interested and after trying all sorts of things...I finally found a question mark shaped radiator hose that worked....

Checkers Part#A70637CS $8.00 called a (Curved Radiator Hose)

I can't feel the benefits as I am running a stock turbo...I was hoping for a different sounding bov...but alas...it sounds almost like the stock recirc valve but if you can believe this...more quiet...

The air ramp/GP Moto Elbow seems to be working very well...had to cut the top portion of the grill to make it work...it came with stencils and all...

I am also trying a new product by Royal Purple (I use their oil in my STI) called Purple Ice...it's an additive similar to the other products which lessens the surface tension of water to allow it to cool the temp down more while running through the radiator...temp gauge went down a bit...

Nice cheap mods...just to keep things different...

Thanks Chucky...

just some small kind mods to keep me messing with the car...

I feel shame though...I ended up taking my car in to have the pads/lines/fluids put in...just can't find the time to try and install it myself...and not inconvenience others...I really wanted to do it myself but between getting the flu, spending time with the family and work...it was easier for me to pay someone to do it...

The pads work great and the SS lines really make the brakes feel better...I have to wash my car now to see how much less the Hawk HPS's dust...

I've heard from reliable sources that purple ice is not as good as water wetter-- it has less of whatever makes it work in there.

Yeah...man Lar...

almost had to sell my car recently as well...I feel for you...why you selling it anyhow? I've put too much effort and work in my car experimenting, fine tuning etc...it's finally getting to where I want it...fast and nimble...I really felt bad when I thought I would have to sell it...physically sick...

Chris...thanks man...yeah, I gotta get better...I've had this for a couple weeks now...
Well, just went to the doctors and he said something is going around that is bad...it turned out to be bacterial sinus infection...so don't suffer like I did for two weeks if you start getting sinus headaches, congestion, and massive coughing...started anti-biotics yesterday and I feel better already...

How's the custom HKS recir BOV sounding? Yeah... I got no time putting in the pads too, crap... I might have to do the same thing u did... which is not a bad thing Brent, so don't be ashame of it. The family thing is more important... hehe.

Looks good Brent. I also will be upgrading to Royal Purple oil next oil change change, from Mobil1. I now want to pick up some Purple Ice. Where did you get it from, btw?

Hey Jase,

Of all places....DAIE...Kailua! Very Funny...

Was just looking to get some smells for the car (they have a pretty good selection) and one or another is always on sale...

Saw the Purple Ice there...seems to work as well as the other stuff I got from checkers...my temp gauge has dropped...

Sounds.....

too quiet! I am a bit dissapointed...I though it would sound a lot different...it is a basic tube outlet, like the purple insert...so instead of the Eagle on Crack Squeak muffled through a recirc pipe like the silver or gold insert, it is a Whoosh into the recirc pipe...It sounds pretty much stock....bummmers.

Now, if we could get that silver or gold insert inside the tube to recirc...it could sound pretty cool...

Yeah...thanks...Ty offered to walk me through it, but I couldn't find the time to do it...and you should have seen my brake pads...they were in bad shape...like less than an 1/8" pad left on one of them...yikes!

BTW...take a look at your rotors...mine was grooved pretty deep...maybe 3/32nds...I could feel the edge where the pads stopped...might have to get new rotors eventually....($$$$$)...

The Hawks and SS lines feel really good...an ocassional squeak...but they are new still...much quieter than my stockers...

Nice work Brent.

Keep us posted about the brake dust situation. The amount of brake dust generated by the brembo pads are ridiculous!

Did you ever install the Kartboy Shortshifter and bushings? What is your take on it?
