safety check sticker plates
i believe that the only way you can get a "replacement" sticker is if you do another safety inspection which will cost you money (between $10-15 normally at most gas stations).
finally, i have pictures of the actual thing...but i took them at 9:30 in the evening which probably wasnt the best idea. these night pictures dont do the sticker holders justice but they'll give you an idea of how they look on the car
please go back to the first post in this thread to see the shine and quality of the sticker holders
!
(will try to take a new set of pics in the day)
this is what the 2-sticker plate looks like:

on the car w/ the license plate on (that bright line you see through the holder is the fluorescent light that i'm trying to adjust to fix the lighting -- it didnt work

here's the 4-sticker holder, which has room for stickers on both sides of the license plate:

Yeah, thats usually how it's done. I had a little trouble with my sticker stretching using the clear tape method though. A friend of mine said that aluminum tape works better, but for me, it's hard to see if i'm cutting through the sticker or slicing under the sticker, which which is what I should be doing.
Oh yeah, just take it nice and slow when you've applied the sticker to the new place and are peeling off the clear tape. The safety check sticker has another security feature when the ink or material used for the image easily peels off and sticks to the clear tape.

These plates are definately worth the price. They look better than the plates you can get almost anywhere, you don't have to worry about drilling into your bumper, and you can always use hex head screws as a theft deterrent! Thanks mini-t!
