Safety Check Hook Up

My safety check expires this month.

Does anyone know a place or person that can hook up a slightly modified WRX with a safety check.

Please PM with the information.

Mahalos!

Hmm so if you go to one and they start to give you crap about the tint can you like bail and just tell em to forget it or will they report that as a failed exam? Im worried now with my tint being 16%...

Ask them before they start if it's going to be a problem.

The State is really cracking down on safety stations though...

i think they might charge for failed exams. but i guess it depends on the shop (since you are using their time). usually the cost comes from the registration process the shop has to do with the state.

i take that back. they probably don't charge b/c how can they document that or charge you since you don't get anything in return. if you fail you just leave. kinda like recon.

I go to this "drive through inspection" place in wahiawa. It's a converted gas station right before Wendy's on Kam highway. You pull up and honk the horn, flash some lights, show them the papers, and pay. It was a frickin joke the last time i had to get mine. Not sure if it's still the same (6 months ago or so).

IIRC correctly they are supposed to charge you pass or fail. If you fail you have so many days (10 or something like that) to correct any problems and bring your car back in to recheck things at no charge. If you dont bring it back within the alotted time you must pay again.

I believe many places actually make you pay before they even start the inspection so you cant escape payment if you fail. Many people are having trouble with inspections now that they really are cracking down on things. The fines can be ridiculous (sometimes $10k).
