I don't know why nor do I care who the rocket scientist was that made recon for oahu only...........probably some poor sap who needed more money to fund an illegal project of somekind.


Just don't get a safety check knowing your car isnt legal..........you get caught and they will scrape you sticker off your bumper and quite possibly ground your vehicle

 

ya i was suppose to get recon. but then before i cud get it something went wrong with one of my suspensions n gave in. so now im waiting for my new suspension to come in. but my car is already past the date i needed to renew my safety check. can i still get recon?

 

that is insane.... since this thread is referring to getting a safety the shady way... try spending some time in the kakaako area and going from shop to shop... there are a few guys who will pass you with a little extra charge---- the most i have seen is 35 bucks----

keep in mind that it is shady, the businesses usually lose their licence for a year(i think that long) and a nice fine along with it--- (if they get caught) **and this info isn't exactly anything new-

but they are out there---- that said... happy hunting.. or simply make your car legal-

never had a safety inspection that wasn't 100% legitimate. If you believe that, I've always driven the speed limit, and my house isn't filled with wheels/tires and car parts.
