if i had spent the money i've spent renovating my house on my car- i'd have a beast. plumbing, electrical, termite treatment, building extra rooms, bathrooms.... that stuff really add$ up!
but hey i have no regrets- 29 years old, family man that still has some toys. while my old house transforms into a palace i am temorarily "stuck" with a car with drop springs, strut braces, rsb, endlinks, blitz sus, some serious negative camber- dirty rims and balding tires-
but i have been blessed with a very good friend from japan who has been nothing but great to me when it comes to parts- and in the near future will changes start becoming of my car-
stay tuned

Hey Greg, you've gotta be proud for accomplishing what you have. Not many can say they have what you have. A functional family, house, an STi and a WRX wagon all while living in one of the more expensive states in the Union.
I'd have to admit, many of us here would dump a bunch of money into a car rather than investing in a home. You've got your priorities straight and I give you and all others like you respect for that.
I guess you can say your sacrifices were well worth it.

while my ultimate desire is to race my friend in a superlap series- i think that would just make my sacrfices worth all the while- i have to admit that it kinda hurts my cro-magnon side when i see everyone listing up their mods and i'm sitting with a "stock" car. which is one reason why i've sorta resolved myself by mastering it in stock trim 1st-
sometimes having money tied up in other places can be a blessing i guess(less frivelous spending) however.... the longer i have to "wait" the longer my wishlist gets.... and gets backed up-

Mods aren't everything, Greg. I, too, am trying to master the rather stock STi suspension setup...on a brick-type vehicle
. It will feel really good to run a stock car faster than highly modded ones.

wow dude... i don't know you personally but you struck a nerve there..
I'm 32, a new dad, a new homeowner, and starting a new career. In other words, my life as I knew it has come to a close. In its place rises a *new* life full of......bills..lol
but seriously, putting the STi on a budget has been interesting. Really makes me think over every little thing I plan to do b/c I only get to dream for now. That and drive the snot out of the car I've got.
now if only i could get rid of that speeding crime/court date I've got in a month or so. THAT would be joyous.
hang in there man.
