Now that you've driven an RX-8 go drive a G35 or 350Z an den the STi. For $30 grand those are the best performance options. Make up your own mind don't rely on other people's opinions and perceptions.

I like the rx8 too, but my girlfriend had a bad experience with her rx7. Engine blew up because of faulty seal/boost controler/stupid ex-boyfriend combination.
There aren't that many people on this island that know how to work on a rotary engine, it's just so unconventional. If you really want the car, I would recommend that you get a extended warranty with the dealer. Might save you money later, and hey if you don't use it sometimes they give your money back at the end.

I was watching a video of best motoring and everything just walked away from the RX-8..oh cept the miata. WRX, G35, S2K, Integra Type-R...the best was watching the Type-R walk down and pass the RX-8 on the straight away, from a 220 HP car. i think that RX-8 is still over-rated @238 dyoning 170 at the wheels? what is that loss from the drivetrain like 28%? Hell my old RSX would drop higher numbers stock.

I think that a direct competitor to an RX-8 is not a STI but a S2000.
